What are your thoughts on Twitter? Is it a vehicle to get information in a quick, concise manner, or is it a sign that we have developed a short attention span?
Twitter may be both. Since people’s network’s are getting larger, it is important to devote less time to responses … at least that is what I hear. I’m still a bit “old school” probably. Because of the time demands, I’m becoming a convert, though.
Those who value Twitter the most are those that see it as an ongoing dialogue. So … you say something … I say something … you respond … I respond … we hope our issue/request/need is advanced during this exchange of short messages.
When used this way, we probably need to be very atuned to using our smart phones, iPhones, etc. Jerry Seinfeld might make a mockery of you/us, but it may be the price we pay for the technology we may need to use.
Twitter can also be a way to gleen ideas from the “ether” … the Web … the Net …
Capture, review, evaluate … collect and respond to those Tweets that interest you.
Today Twitter is part of our world. Twitter can impact how people view us, our products, or our companies. We need to be familiar with its culture, impact, and protocols.
Twitter isn’t good … bad … the right thing … the wrong thing. It is.
